This will be a highly collaborative role focused on strategic integration with campus partners that is informed by Fleishman Career Center engagement data. This position will also support their colleagues in the Fleishman Career Center with the strategy around the scalability of career development within co-curricular experiences and campus partnerships.

Specific partnerships this role will lead include:

  • Residential Life- The Assistant Director will work collaboratively with Residential Life staff, collegiate professors, and Residential Student Engagement Specialists (split graduate-level live-in positions between Fleishman Career Center and Residential Life) to provide tailored outreach, programming, and consulting availability within the residential communities. This position's office will be located centrally within the College-in-the-Woods residential community to serve students where they are.
  • Athletics- This position will also serve as the liaison to Binghamton University Athletics, providing tailored programming and opportunities to connect with employers and alumni. Additionally, this position will support efforts to increase students' access to experiential learning opportunities.
  • Student Association- The Assistant Director will work closely with the Student Association at Binghamton to identify ways to partner and integrate career development into the co-curricular experience.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Set goals and provide leadership for key campus relationships in Residential Life, Athletics, and the Student Association
  • Create a co-curricular strategy and scalable campus partnerships that engage students in meaningful ways in collaboration with colleagues in the Fleishman Career Center
  • Provide 1:1 consulting appointments, including supporting drop-in services in the main center space
  • Supervise the Residential Student Engagement Specialists (2), the Student Career Influencers intern positions (2-4). This includes interviewing and hiring the team, assigning workloads, developing outreach and programmatic strategies, and completing evaluations as needed.

The Assistant Director will take on additional supervision of staff as the position moves forward. There will be expectations to teach one of the Fleishman Career Center career courses at least once per year and to provide support to transfer students as needed.
